My little survivor

Αγαπώ πολύ τα φυτά.Αυτή τη στιγμή τα φυτά μου(όσα έχουν απομείνει)με ακουνε και γελάνε.Μέσα σε τρια χρόνια έχω καταφέρει να τα ξεπαγιάσω και να τα ξεπαστρέψω σχεδόν όλα.Δύο σεφλέρες(η μία παγωσε δυο φορές),όλα μου τα κακτοειδή(φέτος),τα λατρεμένα μου παχύφυτα που τη βγάζουν δεν την βγάζουν,τον ιβίσκο τον κηδέψαμε πέρυσι παρέα με την αρτι αφιχθείσα ορτανσία(αντίο ροζούλα),σπαθυφυλλα δύο τον αριθμό,μία δρακαινα που κιτρινιάρα πάει απο το κακό στο χειρότερο,για να μη μιλήσω για τα εποχιακά που πριν κλείσουν εβδομάδα,πιάνουν μαμούνια(που είσαι,Γιάννη,μαμουνολόγε).Α!Πέρυσι πήρα να φυτέψω φράουλες.Καλά κρασιά.Ας μην τα σκέφτομαι άλλο γιατί στεναχωριέμαι.....

Που το πάω όμως;Θα καταλήξω.Προ πενταετίας είχα πάρει απο ένα σουπερμαρκετ ένα τοσοδούλι παχύφυτο.Είναι το μόνο που έχει επιβιώσει μεσα σε διάστημα τόσων χρόνων,έχει μεγαλώσει πάααρα πολύ(φτου σου,καλό μου)και ανθίζει νωρίς με πολύ εξωτικό λουκ.Νομίζω ότι δικαίως του αφιέρωσα το παρακάτω layout για τη μαγιάτικη πρόκληση του get creative.

 Ιδού λοιπόν ο επιζών και μάλιστα ανθισμένος:

ΥΓ:Να στείλω φιλιά και στις μολόχες μου.(ξέρω ξέρω κακώς σας έχω δεδομένες...θα επανορθώσω)

A cake and a challenge with some orange zest

Baking cakes is not one of my favourite things to do, although I love love love eating them.But when it comes to an easy receipe, I have to try it.This orange and cocoa cake has become one of my favourites because it's super easy,it doesn't need eggs or butter,which is good(my mum says so and I always trust my mum) and finally all I have to do is stir everything with a spoon, so cleaning up the kitchen and utensils is not an issue.I forgot to mention that my dear husband doesn't like it very much so in the end the cake is all mine.Too many advantages to ignore.

So every now and then I play the good wife with a cake that's all mine.I am a bad person,I know,but who cares?

So everytime I bake or cook something,I take a picture and attach it to my receipe notebook.Just in case I forget how food looks(ha ha!).

I used the photo I took for this favourite treat to create a layout for MME challenge you'll find here.

Aren't those colors amazing?They are mostly from  Tangerine paper pad.

The best day is not only one

I I believe there are lots of best days in our lives.

I f somenone had asked me a couple of years before about my best day,I would have said it was when IKEA opened in my hometown or when I recieved my first scrapbooking supplies ever!!!!

When my baby was born I thought that this was the one.THE BEST.But almost three months later I think that every new day is better that the previous.So now I have many many of them in a row(well maybe I am exaggerating a bit but I know you get the point).I am lucky.What can I say?

Nevertheless I had to choose one day for the OUAS April challenge,so I picked the day she was born.The first of many to cοme.

Time flies

Απίστευτο μου φαίνεται πως πέρασε ο καιρός και μπήκε κιόλας η άνοιξη!Όχι ότι το νιώσαμε,μια και είναι λιγάκι νωρίς ακόμα αλλά και μόνο η σκέψη ότι σε δυο εβδομάδες αλλάζει η ώρα(τρα λα λα),δεν κρατιέμαι.

Έχουμε και λέμε,λοιπόν:Έφτιαξα την παρακάτω σύνθεση για το Scrapbooking in Greece(από κει πληροφορήθηκα για την αλλαγή της εποχής...μην το σχολιάσετε....)Χρησιμοποίησα μια περσινή φωτογραφία γιατί με το μωρό είμαι δυσκίνητη προς το παρόν, ωστε να βγω για φωτογράφηση.Δοκίμασα για πρώτη φορά να βάλω μεγάλη φωτογραφία και μου άρεσε το αποτέλεσμα.

 

 I can't believe it's spring already.It's a bit early to celebrate warm days but in two weeks time we'll change our clocks into summer time.Woo hoooo!!!!

I made the following layout for Scrapbooking in Greece.I used photo taken last spring because it's difficult to go taking photos now that the baby is here.I tried using a big picture and i really liked it.

Get creative December 15th challenge

Ήρθε η ώρα για την τελευταία σύνθεση του χρόνου για το get creative.Η έμπνευση μου ήταν η αλλαγή δωματίων που κάναμε πριν απο κανένα μήνα για να προσαρμοστούμε στα νέα δεδομένα.Και να πω την αλήθεια μου είμαι πολύ ευχαριστημένη με το αποτέλεσμα.

It's time for this year's last layout i made for get creative.I got inspired by the change of rooms we made at home.And to tell you the truth i am quite satisfied with the result.

It's the 15th already

This year i was supposed to make  melomakarona and kourabiedes but everything changed.....I am not allowed to eat most of the things i used to.Pregnancy diabetes....

So, no christmas treats,no sugar,no pork(bye bye christmas dinner),no nothing.

That's why i bought those felt gingerbread people to replace some of the christmas baking.As soon as i got home i realised that i had to scrap about them.They are so cute!!!!

Just before christmas

Φέτος αποφασίσαμε να μη στολίσουμε δέντρο.Εχμ.....δηλαδή δεν έχουμε αγοράσει δέντρο......Μη βιαστείτε να μας κακοχαρακτηρίσετε.Πρώτον δεν έχουμε που να το αποθηκεύσουμε(μεγάλη πληγή)και πάντα αγοραζα κλαδια πευκου και κλαδιά γκι αντί του δέντρου.Δευτερον τα φετινά χριστούγεννα δε θα είμαι καν στο σπιτάκι μου(σε μερικες μέρες θα μετακομίσω στη Λάρισα,για να είμαι κοντά στο νοσοκομείο, μπας το μωρό ερθει νωρίτερα και για παν ενδεχόμενο).

Παρ' όλα αυτά έχουμε κρεμάσει πάνω στο κουρτινόξυλο τα λαμπάκια(ιδέα Κλεοπάτρας.....ευχαριστούμε....) και δέσαμε με σπάγγο τα αγαπημένα μου πάνινα στολίδια απο τους κρίκους της κουρτίνας.Λέω ''έχουμε'' γιατί η αγάπη μου είναι ψηλη και φτάνει να το κάνει χωρίς σκάλα.Αυτή η αντρική εμπλοκή βέβεαια έχει μοιραίες συνέπειες στη γαλήνη του σπιτιού μας.(χα!μου θυμίζω τη μαμά μου πάνω από το κεφάλι του πατέρα μου,καθώς εκείνος σουβλίζει το αρνί κάθε πάσχα...αλλά αυτή είναι μια ιστορία που θα σας την πω μια άλλη φορά).Προς το παρόν, δε θα το σχολιάσω περαιτέρω.

Αυτά τα παραπάνω στολιδάκια είναι στη φωτό που χρησιμοποίησα για τη σελιδα μου.Την έφτιαξα  για τη χριστουγεννιάτικη πρόκληση του scrapbooking in greece.

 Να ευχαριστήσω τη Μαρία για το πακετάκι με τα τέλεια πραγματάκια που έκοψε για μένα    στο precious( όπως το αποκάλεσε-δικαίως- η  Νατάσα Τσουφ ) silhouette cameo!!!!

Playing pool

Η αγάπη μου παίζει μπιλιάρδο στο μαγαζί ενός φίλου μας.Η σελίδα μου απαρνήθηκε τον ασπρο της φόντο και νομίζω ότι δικαίωσε τον εαυτό της(ευλογάω λίγο τα γένια μου τώρα αλλά δε γίνεται αλλιώς,μια και είχα καιρό να νιώσω τόσο καλά φτιάχνοντας κάτι).

Για το δεύτερο 15μερο του νοεμβρίου και για το αγαπημένο get creative(σπεύσατε για λεπτομέρειες)......

My love is playing pool at a friend's place.My page got rid off its white background and i think it came out really well(can't help but praising) it,since i haven't felt so satisfied with something i made for a very long time.

It's the 15th of November already and it seems like this prolonged summer in Greece has come to an end.

So it's time for a new challenge and a new layout for Once upon a sketch blog.

This is my two year old nephew,who's always present everywhere we go.Everywhere!Here,he's on a ride with the IKEA cart.

Get Creative November 1st challenge and more...

Last month we celebrated my love's birthday with a big heart shaped glazed chocolate cake.He loves chocolate so much that he ate the whole cake in one and a half day.I had time to grab only one tiny piece of it.

I took some pictures of him just before the disappearence of the cake and used them on my november 1st get creative layout.if you 'd like to take part in the challenge,all you have to do is use three or more photos on a single page.Go for it and good luck.

Capture the good times

One of my love's  most favourite times of the year,is when he's prepearing for the annual bridge tournament.He keeps repeating that everytime a deal comes to an end you have to leave everything behind and focus on the next.Stop thinking what went wrong and keep playing.There is time for evaluation when the day comes to an end.Take a new shot every time.

Just for the record...his team didn't go very well but he came back from Athens really happy.

Goodmorning everyone!

Ο μήνας έχει 7 και ήρθε η σειρά μου να προκαλέσω πρώτα τον εαυτό μου,μια και είναι η πρώτη κάρτα που φτιάχνω,και μετά εσας.

It's the 7th of the month and it's my turn to challenge you

and first of all myself,

since this is the first  card I have ever made,

and then you.

Γι'αυτό διάλεξα κάτι εύκολο και απλό.Το λευκό χρώμα.Η πρόκληση λοιπόν είναι να δημιουργήσετε μια κάρτα που θα κυριαρχεί το λευκό.Στο υπόλοιπο της κάρτας,αφήστε τη φαντασία και τη δημιουργικότητα σας να εκφραστούν με ό,τι χρώμα,υλικό και τεχνική σας αρέσει.

That's why I chose something easy and simple.

My challenge is to create a card,using mostly the color white.

Feel free to complete your creation with any other colour,

material and technique you wish.

Χρησιμοποίησα λίγο ύφασμα στο πάνω μέρος και στο κέντρο.

I used some fabric at the top of the card as well as at the centre.

Washi tape,μια λουριδίτσα χαρτί,splatters και γαζί γύρω γύρω.

Washi tape,a strip of paper,splatters and sewn all around it. 

Η νικήτρια της πρόκλησης θα κερδίσει αυτό το χειροποίητο αλμπουμ.

The winner of the challenge will receive this handmade album.

Οι προκλήσεις θα είναι ανοιχτές μέχρι και τις 29 Οκτωβρίου,

Color combination and washi tape challenge

Two days ago I made this layout.I really loved the color combination from I am Doe.The good thing is I had so much fun making it.It's so amazing when that happens.I hope you like it!

 Used some washi tape for the butterfly background and right above the picture.
